Today is International Women's Day. That's why I'd like to introduce you to a fantastic power woman – in this newsletter. I talk about a storytelling campaign where women do crazy things (they code!), allow myself to put a man into the spotlight (because it's all about equality), bring you some tips on how to deal with negative criticism and send you off to your garden. Have fun reading.

At the storytelling conference Plot19, which I co-organised in Munich a few years ago, Creative Consultant Tatjana Samopjan was the final keynote speaker. And what a brilliant finale it was. During her speech there were several emotional breakdowns in the audience and one participant quit her job right after the speech. Yes, this woman has incredible power. And she brings it to speak about one of the most important topics we currently know in communication: authentic storytelling. Have a look into her recent talk at Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg: Tatjana SamopjanA Guideline to Authentic Storytelling

Who do you have in mind when you hear about a „coder“? Wrong! Hewlett's wonderful storytelling campaign shows that IT-specialists and coder don't have to follow simple cliché of male nerds at all. Wonderfully stories about lovely, beautiful and unexpected coder. Have a look into this four stories on their website “Generation Impact” or check out the movie trailer.

Hans Rosling, health statistician, is a great storyteller. Unfortunately, he passed away far too early. But his presentations are still worth seeing - especially when he illustrates complicated topics with very simple means. Like here in his talk "Global population growth, box by box

Ups, you get negative feedback on your brilliant idea. Ouch. That hurts. Most people respond to criticism with: fight or flight. Either you fight and explain again why your idea is outstanding (usually in vain). Or you flee and withdraw in a huff (well, if the customer is too stupid to understand your brilliant idea, why should you work with him/her anyhow?). Responding on negative feedback can be done better: have a look into this wonderful article “How to deal with negative feedback” by CreativeBoom
